OUR CATHOLIC IDENTITY

Catholic Identity sits at the heart of our school, it is our mission, our aspiration and our values. Our commitment to our Catholic faith in dialogue with others is at the core of our being.

We have hope and faith in our future to create a world full of peace, respect, and love as we learn with and from each other. At St. Brendan’s we nurture a diverse community centered on God, following the gospel teachings, the teachings of Jesus and integrating faith and life with our Mercy traditions, our religious order founders.  This is fully encapsulated in our Identity statement.

“St. Brendan’s is a Catholic school embracing our diverse community with

faith and courage in the spirit of the Mercy tradition”

At St. Brendan’s we aspire to build a community of faith in which everyone feels a deep sense of belonging.  Our mission is to continue the works and teachings of Jesus within our world and follow in the footsteps of our Mercy order foundress, Catherine McAuley.  We encourage our students daily to have faith and demonstrate respect for all, a willingness to serve those in need and to have the courage to stand up for what is right and just, whilst having the capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work for justice and peace so that all may live life to the full.

Within our school we strive to create a spiritual and liturgical environment that enhances the Catholic identity of everyone in our community – students, staff and families – through Religious Education classes, prayer, social justice activities and liturgical celebrations.
